Dockrillia)

About the Cross

Cross number 6014. A primary hybrid between two distinctive Australian natives — Dendrobium cucumerinum (the cucumber orchid) and Dendrobium brevicaudum (the Mount Finnigan pencil orchid). Often listed under Dockrillia by Australian growers. Cucumerinum is a compact, creeping species with its unmistakable gherkin-shaped leaves, native to eastern Australia and well regarded in miniature collections. Brevicaudum is a pendulous pencil orchid from high-altitude rainforest on Mount Finnigan in far north Queensland, with yellowish to orange-brown flowers with red streaks. Together this cross combines two very different growth habits — expect something with terete foliage, an interesting pendulous character and the compact charm of the cucumber parent. A cross for serious collectors of Australian native species.

What You'll Receive

Established seedlings in 66mm pots, grown in the Dandenong Ranges.
