The pollen parent, \u003cem\u003eDockrillia brevicauda\u003c\/em\u003e 'GD', is a rare Queensland highland species from the rainforests of the far north — a slender, pendulous plant found at altitude near Cooktown. Selected by George Dimos, this clone brings species-level genetics into the cross. The combination of a floriferous, compact hybrid with a distinctive rainforest species is the kind of pairing that produces unpredictable but often interesting results — flower colour, shape and size will vary across the batch, and this cross has not been registered as a named grex. It is sometimes listed as \u003cem\u003eDockrillia\u003c\/em\u003e Anthedon Magic in the Australian trade, though that name correctly applies to a slightly different parentage.
