Cymbidium Dural Dream ‘Rose’

Cymbidium Dural Dream 'Rose' is a standard-size Cymbidium hybrid with rose-pink flowers on upright spikes. This is a single-lead mericlone (SLC), so it is a young plant that has not yet reached flowering size. It suits growers in cool climates who can give it cool autumn nights.

About this plant

• Flowering: Winter to spring, with multiple broad, well-formed flowers on each upright spike.
• Flowers: Rose-pink with smooth, rounded petals and a white lip with burgundy markings. As a mericlone, it should flower true to the clone shown in the photos.
• Type: Standard-size flowers. 'Rose' is a clone of the Dural Dream grex.

Growing conditions

• Climate: Not suited to warm climates. It needs cool nights, and cool autumn nights in particular to initiate spiking.
• Temperature: Cool to intermediate.
• Light: Bright filtered light, such as 30–50% shade cloth or dappled outdoor shade. Avoid direct midday sun.
• Humidity: Moderate to high.
• Water: Water freely during spring and summer growth. Reduce watering in winter, keeping the medium just moist.
• Feeding: Balanced liquid fertiliser fortnightly during the growing season, tapering off through late autumn and winter.
