Care Requirements
- Light: Requires bright, filtered light to encourage prolific flowering and strong colouration. Protect from intense direct sun.
- Temperature: Cool to Intermediate (10°C – 24°C). The essential night-time cool down (10°C-14°C) in Autumn is crucial for initiating flower spikes.
- Watering: Maintain consistent moisture during the active Spring/Summer growth. Allow the potting medium to almost dry out between waterings in the Winter rest period.
- Humidity: 50% to 70%. Ensure continuous, gentle air movement to prevent disease.
- Potting: Use a free-draining, bark-based Cymbidium mix. Best grown pot-tight. Repot every two years or when the media breaks down.
- Fertilizing: Apply high-nitrogen fertilizer during the Summer growth phase. Switch to a high-potassium bloom-booster in late Summer through Autumn.
