Cymbidium Kimberley Gidget 'Katelin'

Cymbidium Kimberley Gidget 'Katelin' is a mericlone Cymbidium hybrid selected for its warm, richly toned flowers and upright spike habit. The Kimberley Gidget grex is a well-regarded Australian hybrid; 'Katelin' (DW 377) is a named cultivar valued for its golden-orange petals with pink-rose veining and a white lip heavily marked with deep crimson spotting.

What to expect

• Flowering: Winter to spring. Upright spikes carrying multiple well-formed flowers per spike.
• Flowers: Warm golden-orange to apricot petals with pink-rose veining and flush throughout. White lip with heavy deep crimson spotting creating strong contrast. As a mericlone, flowers are consistent with the images shown.
• Plant: Intermediate size. Supplied in a 66mm pot as an established growing plant.

• Temperature: Cool to intermediate. Well-suited to southern Australian conditions. Requires cool autumn nights to initiate spiking.
• Light: Bright filtered light. 30–50% shade cloth or dappled outdoor shade. Avoid direct midday sun.
• Water: Water freely during spring and summer growth. Reduce frequency in winter while keeping the medium just moist.
• Feeding: Balanced liquid fertiliser fortnightly during the growing season. Taper off through late autumn and winter.
