Cymbidium Kristianne Marie 'Kalimna' – Pendulous Hybrid is a compact mericlone Cymbidium hybrid selected for dense, floriferous presentation and strong colour contrast. The Kristianne Marie grex is an established Australian miniature hybrid; 'Kalimna' is a cultivar valued for its warm apricot-to-bronze flowers with a richly patterned pink and white splash lip, carried in tidy, well-filled sprays.

What to expect

  • Flowering: Winter to spring. Pendulous to cascading spikes carrying multiple flowers in dense, floriferous sprays — effective when displayed elevated or in hanging baskets.
  • Flowers: Warm apricot to bronze with a richly patterned pink and white splash lip. Clear colour contrast and consistent flower form. As a mericlone, flowers are consistent with the images shown.
  • Plant: Compact miniature size. Supplied in a 66mm pot as an established growing plant.

Growing notes

  • Temperature: Cool to intermediate. Well-suited to southern Australian conditions. Requires cool autumn nights to initiate spiking.
  • Light: Bright filtered light. 30–50% shade cloth or dappled outdoor shade. Avoid direct midday sun.
  • Water: Water freely during spring and summer growth. Reduce frequency in winter while keeping the medium just moist.
  • Feeding: Balanced liquid fertiliser fortnightly during the growing season. Taper off through late autumn and winter.
