Cymbidium Memoria Myrtle Wain 'Lachie' AM/AOC is a standard-size Cymbidium hybrid selected for its richly coloured flowers and strong upright spike habit. 'Lachie' received an Award of Merit from the Australian Orchid Council, recognising the flower quality and presentation of this cultivar. The Memoria Myrtle Wain grex is a well-established Australian hybrid noted for bold, deep-toned flowers.

What to expect

• Flowering: Winter to spring. Strong upright spikes carrying multiple large, well-formed flowers per spike.
• Flowers: Deep red to burgundy with broad, well-rounded petals and a contrasting lip. Bold colour and strong presence. Awarded for flower quality and overall presentation.
• Plant: Standard size. Supplied in a 66mm pot as an established growing plant.

Growing notes

• Temperature: Cool to intermediate. Well-suited to southern Australian conditions. Requires cool autumn nights to initiate spiking.
• Light: Bright filtered light. 30–50% shade cloth or dappled outdoor shade. Avoid direct midday sun.
• Water: Water freely during spring and summer growth. Reduce frequency in winter while keeping the medium just moist.
• Feeding: Balanced liquid fertiliser fortnightly during the growing season. Taper off through late autumn and winter.
