Cymbidium Templestowe Opal 'Tiny'

Cymbidium Templestowe Opal 'Tiny' is an intermediate-size mericlone Cymbidium hybrid, selected for its fresh green flower colour and clean, upright spikes. 'Tiny' is a clone of the Templestowe Opal grex, with soft apple-green blooms, rounded petals and a strongly contrasting lip.

About this plant

• Flowering: Winter to spring. Upright spikes carry multiple flowers in clean, structured sprays.
• Flowers: Soft apple-green with smooth, rounded petals and a crisp white lip with deep burgundy patterning. As a mericlone, the flowers should be consistent with the images shown.
• Plant: Intermediate size. This is a single-lead clone (SLC), a mericlone plant with one lead. It is not yet flowering size.

Growing conditions

• Temperature: Cool to intermediate. Well suited to southern Australian conditions. It needs cool autumn nights to initiate spiking and is not suited to warm climates.
• Light: Bright filtered light. Use 30–50% shade cloth or dappled outdoor shade, and avoid direct midday sun.
• Humidity: Moderate to high.
• Water: Water freely during spring and summer growth. Reduce frequency in winter, keeping the medium just moist.
• Feeding: Balanced liquid fertiliser fortnightly during the growing season. Taper off through late autumn and winter.
