Cymbidium Valley Zenith 'Pastel Lip'

Cymbidium Valley Zenith 'Pastel Lip' is a standard-type mericlone Cymbidium hybrid selected for its fresh green flowers and softly detailed lip. 'Pastel Lip' is a clone of the Valley Zenith grex, noted for clean pale-green colouration and a lip that blends soft cream through to pale pink at the margins. The effect is restrained and precise.

About this plant

• Flowering: Winter to spring. Upright spikes carry multiple flowers, cleanly and evenly spaced.
• Flowers: Pale green with smooth, even petals and a delicately shaded cream-to-pink lip. Understated and refined. As a mericlone, the flowers should be consistent with the selected clone.
• Plant: Standard flower type, supplied as a single-lead clone (SLC), a mericlone plant with one lead. It is not yet flowering size.

Growing conditions

• Temperature: Cool to intermediate. Well suited to southern Australian conditions. It needs cool autumn nights to initiate spiking and is not suitable for warm climates.
• Light: Bright filtered light. Use 30–50% shade cloth or dappled outdoor shade, and avoid direct midday sun.
• Humidity: Moderate to high.
• Water: Water freely during spring and summer growth. Reduce frequency in winter while keeping the medium just moist.
• Feeding: Balanced liquid fertiliser fortnightly during the growing season. Taper off through late autumn and winter.
