Dendrobium Marlo — Warragul 'Magenta' HCC/AOC × Tyabb 'Superstar' AM/AOC is an Australian native Dendrobium seedling cross (cross number 5399, grex "Marlo") bred from two award-winning, classic-form kingianum-alliance parents. Warragul 'Magenta' HCC/AOC contributes rich magenta-pink flowers with a white centre and flaring; Tyabb 'Superstar' AM/AOC adds strong form and heavy white flaring across the segments. The photographs show the parent plants. Individual seedlings will vary in flower colour and form.
What to expect
- Flowering: Spring. Upright to arching spikes carrying multiple flowers above the canes.
- Flowers: Expected range of magenta-pink tones with white flaring, drawing on both award-winning parents. Individual seedlings will vary.
- Plant: Compact upright hard-cane habit. Supplied in an 80mm pot as an established seedling.
Growing notes
- Temperature: Cool to intermediate. Hardy and well-suited to outdoor growing in southern Australia. Protect from frost.
- Light: Bright filtered light. Morning sun is beneficial; avoid harsh afternoon exposure.
- Water: Water freely during summer growth. Reduce significantly in autumn and winter — a dry winter rest is important for flowering.
- Feeding: Balanced fertiliser during the growing season. Cease in late autumn through winter.
