Dendrobium Victorian Flare 'Solid Violet Lip' HCC × speciosum 'Amanda' is an unregistered Australian native seedling cross. Victorian Flare is a registered hybrid with strong kingianum influence — the 'Solid Violet Lip' clone is HCC-awarded and noted for dense, heavily patterned flowers with a solid dark lip. Crossed with speciosum 'Amanda', these seedlings are expected to produce compact, upright plants with patterned flowers in the magenta-violet range over a pale background. Expect variation across individual plants — that's the nature of a seedling cross.

What to expect

• Flowers: Patterned magenta or violet over pale cream or white, with a solid deep lip. Expect variation in density of markings and base colour between individuals.
• Season: Late winter to spring.
• Size: Medium blooms, approximately 4–5.5 cm across.
• Fragrance: Possibly light, given the speciosum parent.

• Temperature: 5°C – 24°C. Frost protection required.
• Light: Bright filtered light. Avoid harsh afternoon sun.
• Humidity: 50% or higher with good air movement.
