Dracula Cyrano 'Silven Khantessa'

Dracula Cyrano 'Silven Khantessa' is a selected clone of this Dracula hybrid (D. chimaera × D. houtteana), grown for its large, heavily structured flowers. The Cyrano grex combines the scale of chimaera with the dark patterning and mottled colouration of houtteana. It is offered as an established division at flowering size.

About this plant

• Flowering: Pendant spikes carry the flowers below the foliage, as is typical of the genus. It can flower more than once a year under stable conditions.
• Flowers: Large, triangular flowers with a prominent fleshy lip and long tail extensions. The colour is deep and dusky, with mottled patterning across the sepals in dark maroon to brown tones with contrasting highlights. Substance is strong.
• Plant: Upright to arching growths with broad, pleated foliage. It is vigorous in cool, humid conditions.

Growing conditions

• Temperature: Cool-growing. It needs consistent cool conditions year-round, including cool summer nights, and is not suited to warm or variable climates without active temperature control.
