Dracula gigas × Dracula vampira — registered C. Halls, 2004. A primary hybrid combining two of the most striking species in the genus: the large-flowered gigas and the dramatically dark vampira. Division from a mature, flowering-size plant.
Flowers are pendulous and produced on downward-arching spikes, making basket culture essential. Expect large, heavily textured blooms with long sepaline tails — characteristic of both parent species — in deep tones typical of the vampira line.
Care requirements: Cool temperatures (nights 8–13°C), deep shade, very high humidity, and consistent moisture with excellent drainage. Low-mineral water preferred. No pseudobulbs — do not allow to dry out.
