Masdevallia Cha Cha Cha 'Foxy Lady' is a named awarded clone of this P.L. Jackson hybrid (Masd. Pichincha × Masd. Marguerite), registered in 2010. 'Foxy Lady' received recognition as an awarded cultivar in 2014 and is one of the more vigorous and free-flowering selections in the grex, with strong veitchiana influence producing notably large flowers for a compact Masdevallia. This is a division of that clone.
What to expect
- Flowering: Single blooms on erect spikes, capable of repeat flowering throughout the year under good conditions.
- Flowers: Large, broad-sepalled flowers in vivid orange-red with strong darker veining and bold tails. Substantial texture and good colour saturation.
- Plant: Compact Masdevallia habit, vigorous for the genus. A good choice for growers newer to cool-growing Masdevallia.
Growing notes
- Temperature: Cool to intermediate. More forgiving than many Masdevallia, but sustained heat will cause problems.
- Light: Bright filtered shade. No direct midday sun.
- Water: Keep evenly moist at all times. No pseudobulbs means no water storage — do not allow to dry out.
- Humidity & air: High humidity with constant gentle air movement. Rainwater or RO water preferred.
