Masdevallia coccinea f. alba 'Snow Flake'

Masdevallia coccinea f. alba 'Snow Flake' is a selected white-flowered form of this iconic Colombian cloud forest species, distinct from our 'White Squall' clone. M. coccinea is one of the great Masdevallia species, and the alba form lacks the typical red-magenta pigment, giving pure white to cream flowers.

Growing conditions

• Temperature: Cool to intermediate, 5°C to 22°C. It needs cool nights and is not suited to warm climates. Avoid sustained heat, which is the primary cause of failure with Masdevallia.
• Light: Bright filtered light. No direct midday sun.
• Water: Keep evenly moist at all times. With no pseudobulbs there are no water reserves, so do not allow it to dry out. Rainwater or RO water is preferred.
• Humidity and air: Humidity of 60% or higher, with constant gentle air movement.
