Masdevallia coccinea f. alba 'Snow Flake' is a selected white-flowered form of this iconic Colombian cloud forest species, distinct from our 'White Squall' clone. M. coccinea is one of the great Masdevallia species, and the alba form removes the typical red-magenta pigment for pure white to cream flowers.

What to expect

  • Flowering: Single blooms carried on erect spikes clear of the foliage.
  • Flowers: White to cream, good substance, typical of the coccinea alba form.
  • Plant: Compact Masdevallia growth habit, suited to cool-growing collections.

Growing notes

  • Temperature: Cool to intermediate. Avoid sustained heat — this is the primary cause of failure with Masdevallia.
  • Light: Bright filtered shade. No direct midday sun.
  • Water: Keep evenly moist at all times. No pseudobulbs means no water reserves — do not allow to dry out.
  • Humidity & air: High humidity with constant gentle air movement. Rainwater or RO water preferred.

Shipping & condition

You will receive the clone 'Snow Flake' as an established division. Buds and flowers cannot be guaranteed at time of shipping due to seasonal and environmental factors.
