Masdevallia Curacao 'Hamish' FCC/AOC

Masdevallia Curacao is a P.&V.Ling hybrid registered in 2011 — a cross of Masdevallia Falcata × Masdevallia Midas Touch. Further back, the grex draws on M. veitchiana, M. coccinea, M. macrura, and M. triangularis, giving the warm, golden-apricot colouring typical of the cross. 'Hamish' is a selected clone that has gone on to receive an FCC/AOC — a First Class Certificate, the highest tier of award given by the Australian Orchid Council.

What to expect

• Flowering: Single flowers on erect spikes held clear of the foliage. Can carry multiple spikes simultaneously on well-established plants.
• Flowers: Warm, golden-apricot tones typical of the Curacao grex, with the clean symmetry and substance that earned this clone its top-tier award.
• Plant: Compact Masdevallia habit, vigorous when cool conditions are met.

• Temperature: Cool to intermediate. Avoid sustained warmth.
