Masdevallia Glow

Masdevallia Glow is an unregistered cool-growing hybrid selected for the warmth and consistency of its colouration. The amber-orange to golden-yellow ground, with bold magenta-red veining running through all three sepals, is immediately distinctive — and the name describes it well. The veining is clean and well-defined, more akin to striping than spotting, which gives this plant a different character to the densely spotted orange hybrids more commonly seen. Offered as an established division.

What to expect

• Flowering: Single-flowered spikes produced freely on a well-established plant. Spikes held upright, presenting the flower face-forward.
• Flowers: Warm amber-orange to golden-yellow ground. Bold magenta-red veining runs centrally down the dorsal sepal and loops through both lateral sepals in clean arcs. No spotting — the pattern is all line and form. Lateral sepals broad and rounded, tapering to long slender dark red-brown tails; dorsal sepal similarly tailed. Standard sized, with good substance and a matte finish to the sepals.
• Plant: Miniature, compact, upright growth. Vigorous when conditions suit.

• Temperature: Cool to intermediate. Avoid sustained warmth.
• Light: Bright filtered shade. No direct midday sun.
• Water: Keep evenly moist at all times. No pseudobulbs means no water reserves — do not allow to dry out.
• Humidity & air: High humidity with constant gentle air movement. Rainwater or RO water preferred.
