Masdevallia King of Kings 'Carry the Crown' AM/AOC is a selected clone of this P.L. Jackson hybrid (Masdevallia Copper Queen × M. veitchiana), registered in 2003. The King of Kings grex produces some of the largest, most impactful flowers in the cool-growing Masdevallia world; 'Carry the Crown' received an Award of Merit from the Australian Orchid Council, recognising the exceptional quality of this clone under judging — selected for its vivid orange colouration, long elegant tails, and overall floral presence.

What to expect

• Flowering: Single flowers on erect spikes held clearly above the foliage. Can carry multiple spikes on well-established plants.
• Flowers: Vivid orange with fine darker speckling across the sepals, long narrow tails, and a sculptural overall presentation. The AM/AOC reflects the consistent quality of this clone under judging — strong colour, good substance, and precise form.
• Plant: Compact Masdevallia habit, vigorous when cool conditions are met.
