Masdevallia Parlatoriana x glandulosa is an unregistered cross combining the Parlatoriana line with the species M. glandulosa — a fragrant, gland-bearing Masdevallia from the cloud forests of Ecuador and Peru, described by Königer in 1979 and known for its distinctive scent, often likened to cloves or cinnamon. Expect some of that fragrance to carry through in this cross.
What to expect
- Flowering: A single flower on an erect spike.
- Flowers: Influenced by the tubular form and fragrance of glandulosa. As an unregistered, unreplicated cross, expect some individuality in presentation.
- Plant: Compact Masdevallia habit.
Growing notes
- Temperature: Cool to intermediate — glandulosa comes from slightly lower, warmer elevations than many Masdevallia species, so this cross is a touch more forgiving of warmth.
- Light: Bright filtered shade. No direct midday sun.
- Water: Keep evenly moist at all times. No pseudobulbs — do not allow to dry out.
- Humidity & air: High humidity with constant gentle air movement. Rainwater or RO water preferred.
