Masdevallia (Patricia Hill × macrura) ‘Chunkie’

Masdevallia (Patricia Hill × macrura) 'Chunkie' is a selected clone of this unregistered cross between two well-proven parents. Patricia Hill (M. veitchiana × M. triangularis) is a warm orange-toned hybrid valued for flower size and substance. M. macrura, a large robust Colombian species, contributes very long tails, heavy texture and a thick, compact floral body. 'Chunkie' was selected for its solid, weighty form: a flower with exceptional substance, where the compact body and extended tails create a strong proportional contrast.
