This particular clone, originating from the cool, lush climates of Peats Ridge, offers proven vigor and resilience. Its compact habit and striking color make it a spectacular feature in any collection.
Care Requirements
- Light: Medium to bright, filtered light. An east-facing window is ideal. Avoid any direct afternoon sun, which will burn the foliage.
- Temperature: Cool to intermediate. Requires a temperature drop at night. Ideal day temperatures are 18°C-24°C, with night temperatures between 10°C-16°C.
- Watering: Keep the potting medium consistently moist. This plant has no pseudobulbs and cannot tolerate drying out. Use rainwater or distilled water to avoid mineral buildup.
- Humidity: High humidity is essential, ideally above 70%. Use a humidity tray or a humidifier to maintain a moist environment. Ensure good air movement.
- Potting: Use a fine, moisture-retentive mix such as pure sphagnum moss or a mixture of fine bark, perlite, and sphagnum.
- Fertilizing: Fertilize with a weak solution (1/4 strength) at every second or third watering during the active growing season.
