Masdevallia Tiger Kiss ‘GRR’

Masdevallia Tiger Kiss 'GRR' is a selected clone of this hybrid registered by Orchid Zone (M. Pendleton) in 1998 — a cross of Masd. Golden Tiger × Masd. Monarch. Golden Tiger (M. veitchiana × M. calocodon) contributes warm golden-yellow ground colour and bold scale; Monarch (M. macrura × M. veitchiana) contributes the elongated form and strong presence of the macrura lineage. The result is a large, striking flower — golden-yellow ground heavily marked with red-orange veining toward the centre, with extended tails and good substance. 'GRR' was selected for its scale and the intensity of its markings.

What to expect

• Flowering: Single flowers on erect spikes held clear of the foliage. Capable of multiple spikes simultaneously on established plants.
• Flowers: Large, well-proportioned flowers with golden-yellow ground and concentrated red-orange veining toward the centre. Extended tails add presence. Strong substance and good colour saturation.
• Plant: Compact Masdevallia habit, vigorous when cool conditions are met.

• Temperature: Cool to intermediate. Avoid sustained warmth.
• Light: Bright filtered shade. No direct midday sun.
• Water: Keep evenly moist at all times. No pseudobulbs — do not allow to dry out.
• Humidity & air: High humidity with constant gentle air movement. Rainwater or RO water preferred.
