Masdevallia veitchiana 'Sol' x Tuakau Candy is an unregistered cross pairing a selected clone of the species M. veitchiana — arguably the most influential species in cool-growing Masdevallia breeding — with Tuakau Candy, a primary hybrid of M. calocodon × M. triangularis registered by L & R in 1994. The cross brings together veitchiana's scale and colour with the refined, warm-toned form contributed by the Tuakau Candy line.
